I still find it amazing how little press the annual March for Life receives from the major news networks. The March for Life is a peaceful protest to show dissatisfaction for the Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973. I’ll never forget the first time I went as a young man. When I first stepped off the bus into the cold gray that is our nation’s capital, I was greeted by a chant from a group of very unhappy pro-choice protesters. “Operation Rescue, what’s up, what’s up? Leave our bodies alone or we’ll f— you up!” I don’t know why that moment has always stayed with me. Perhaps it was such a picture of hate and anger that I simply could not let it go. Perhaps I simply didn’t understand why they were even protesting. What about the bodies of aborted bodies? Who speaks up for them? Our church group got settled, and then gathered at a rally point to begin the march.
Words cannot describe what I saw. Now, I have no idea how many people the networks report attend this march annually, but I guarantee you they short change it heavily. At the bare minimum I gazed upon a sea of one hundred thousand people. They weren’t yelling. They weren’t shouting profanities. They were holding hands. They were singing. They were praying. Many of them were crying. For those of you that have never experienced the March for Life please understand that any feeble attempt I make to describe it accurately will not do it justice. It is absolutely amazing; and it happens every year. Folks travel from all over the country to join in solidarity against one of the greatest evils this country has ever known. No, I’m not talking about slavery. I’m talking about abortion. The march is magnificent, humbling, and utterly unbearable when you think deeply about why so many people take to the streets of Washington.
Most people do not like talking about abortion. Asking someone what they think about abortion is like asking someone who they are going to vote for in the next presidential election. It’s personal, and people don’t like to let just anyone into their personal space. We need to be talking about this. This is not an issue that we can continue to allow to slip further under the radar. Everyday approximately 3,300 children are killed in this once great nation through abortion. That is 3,300 innocent children who will never witness the amazing miracles that occur on this planet. They will never see the beauty of the sun setting behind the foreground of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. They will never travel to the beach and feel the warm sand in between their toes, comforting them before they jump into the ocean unconcerned of any hidden dangers. They will never be held by a loving mother or father after being disciplined or banging their knee on the coffee table, gaining reassurance that they are safe in those protective arms. They will never look vigorously for your approval and affection after accomplishing their first step, their first word, their first drive, or their first degree. They will never get to witness the darkness of sadness or depression or disappointment, and they will never laugh out loud or feel complete joy and happiness. They will never write a book, go to college, manufacture the cure for cancer, mainstream solar energy, run a marathon, help the poor, build a new business, or become an outstanding leader in economics. They will never walk and hold hands with their parents down the street to the grocery store. Why? Why will these angels not do any of this? It is because our society has told these parents that it is acceptable to dispose of these children as if they were trash. Meaningless trash. An unnecessary burden. These children will never come to now the glory of God on this earth because they are dead. They are dead; and we accept their death as another statistic that should probably be dealt with eventually. However, let’s not push it too much; our politicians might lose votes on the social issues, right? Give me a break. Abortion is a sickening disease that is corroding all aspects of our country, not to mention depraving children of their right to life.
When I discuss economic, political, or social issues with people with opposing views, I do a pretty good job of not losing my cool and allowing the other person to have their say. I do not do that very well with the issue of abortion. I am literally sick of hearing about how a “woman’s personal choice” somehow trumps another person’s right to live. The right to life; it sounds so basic and simple, yet it is ripped away from millions of children every year. You do not have the right to kill a child. You don’t. I am disgusted with the argument that an unborn child is simply an unviable tissue mass, or a fetus; life hasn’t actually begun. When the hell does life begin if not at conception? The advancement of technology has allowed prematurely born children to survive at very early stages. You know, these people that spout these pro-choice talking points have to know. Right? Surely they know. They have to know that we are talking about the life of a child, and they know good and well that a woman’s choice does not supersede the life of another human being. They have to know that their arguments about overpopulation and doing what’s best for the child are absolute selfish garbage.
Abortion is an agenda and a big business with big revenues and a big political following. We, as a country, take advantage and profits from the deaths of children. That’s what we do; and no one wants to talk about it. Heavens forbid we actually offend someone. We don’t want to get in a fight over this nonsense. If no one speaks up for these children, who will hear their cries? I choose to stand up for their right to live. I choose to stand up for their right to liberty. I choose to stand up for their right to pursue happiness. This is not a gray issue. If you support abortion in any shape or form, you are wrong. You are dead wrong; and I have no problem telling you so. How dare people talk so casually about the destruction of human life as being acceptable? It offends me. Heavily. This is a fight I am willing to make no matter how many people belittle me or how many jobs I lose because of my beliefs on the issue. I will not back down.
One of the greatest problems with abortion besides losing the life of an innocent child is the repercussions it has had on our society as a whole. You see, when you devalue and cheapen life in one form, it makes it just as easy to devalue and cheapen life in all forms. As we gaze across this nation we see a movement of violence and death increasing daily. Look at the murder rates in Chicago, New Orleans, or Detroit; these once great cities are plagued with death and destruction at almost unbearable levels. Why should we be surprised? Why? We as a society have given the thumbs up to destroy and cheapen life before it comes out of the womb; so why should we be surprised when that attitude continues into all aspects of life. People murder people they don’t even know; people that had jobs and families and responsibilities. All gone with one bullet. When our nation refuses to stand up for the sanctity of life from the very beginning, why should we expect our citizenry to respect the fragility of life during their tenure on earth? We shouldn’t. Abortion is the root of so many evils, and it makes me not only sad but insanely angry. Do you ever wonder what God thinks about the United States of America in its current form? I do. I do not think he is pleased. We take him out of our government, out of our schools, out of our homes, and we stand by idly and watch his small angels get brutally deprived of any chance at life. We must talk about it and then do something about it before it gets any worse.
Too late. It’s gotten worse. So, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood Federation of America Senior Director of Medical Services (she also trains new abortion doctors and performs abortions herself at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles up to twenty-four weeks), has been caught on tape describing how Planned Parenthood can successfully harvest organs, tissue, and muscle from unborn children for medical research. Dr. Nucatola assumed she was talking to potential buyers, but she had been mislead and was being taped unknowingly by representatives for The Center for Medical Progress. If you haven’t seen the video, I suggest you watch it now; if your stomach can handle it.
Dr. Nucatola goes into great detail on how she can remove intact lungs, livers, hearts, extremities, and even heads from an aborted child. Wait a minute! Stop right there! How can one harvest intact, functioning organs from a child if it isn’t alive? Remember, we are talking about an unviable tissue mass here. So I guess by some miracle doctors can magically remove organs from a clump of cells that just happen to be intact and functioning? Dr. Nucatola discusses at length certain procedures that allow her to crush the baby above and below certain organs, allowing her to use forceps to carefully remove the organ that is needed; or in most cases, the organ that has been ordered. Now, I want you to think about this for a minute. The doctor allows the child to be born fully except for the head, which remains just inside a woman’s vagina. The doctor then kills the child and proceeds to crush and cut up the body of the child in order to remove an intact organ that will hopefully benefit medical researchers in finding cures for multiple diseases. I would love to see a list of cures that have been procured from research on these organs. I guarantee you it is either very short or non-existent. This procedure sounds like something that alien invaders would do to humans to examine our insides. This procedure sounds like something from a horror movie. Unfortunately, it appears this is very real. The major networks are hardly covering this story because as always they have to protect the liberal agenda, even at the cost of human life. That’s extreme? That is exactly what is happening.
If you look on your driver’s license, there is a small section that states whether you are an organ donor or not. When you pass away, you can choose to give up certain organs for medical research. Planned Parenthood states that the same case applies here. But does it? Eric Ferraro, Vice President of Communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America had this to say:
“In health care, patients sometimes want to donate tissue to scientific research that can help lead to medical breakthroughs, treatments and cures for serious diseases. Women at Planned Parenthood who have abortions are no different. At several of our health centers, we help patients who want to donate tissue for scientific research, and we do this just like every other high quality health care provider does – with full, appropriate consent from patients and under the highest ethical and legal standards.”
Wait a minute. He’s talking about patients giving consent to donate tissue to research on their own accord. Patients? How the hell does a baby inside a womb give consent to anyone about anything? Who really is the patient? This is absolutely ludicrous. Mr. Ferraro must think we are a group of absolute idiots. Patients? I know, I know; he is talking about the mother. I am well aware of that. However, the actual patient, the child, gave no such consent to be murdered let alone give up her or his heart, lung, or liver. How do you sleep at night, Mr. Ferraro? Probably like a baby. A live baby, that is.
Planned Parenthood has fought back against the allegations that they sell these retrieved organs, which is a federal offense punishable by up to 10 years in a federal prison and a $500,000 fine. The statement coming from Planned Parenthood is basically saying that the costs that were discussed by Dr. Nucatola are shipping costs that are paid by the receiver. Here is what Mr. Ferraro had to say about that:
“There is no financial benefit for tissue donation for either the patient or Planned Parenthood. In some instances, actual costs, such as the cost to transport tissue to leading research centers, are reimbursed, which is standard across the medical field.”
Of course there is no financial benefit for tissue donation for the patient. The patient is dead. I wonder what other “actual costs” there could be that Mr. Ferraro is not specifying. Watch the video closely. Dr. Nutacola says clearly that that there is a price attached to these specimens. She states:
“You know, I would throw a number out. I would say it’s probably anywhere from $30 to $100 [per specimen], depending on the facility and what’s involved.”
Does that sound like she’s discussing shipping costs to you? It sure doesn’t sound like it to me. So, The Center for Medical Progress made a statement debunking several aspects of this. Inside that statement is something that I find insanely interesting:
“The Center for Medical Progress has obtained an advertisement to Planned Parenthood clinics from StemExpress, LLC, one of the major purchasers of Planned Parenthood’s aborted fetal tissue. This flyer advertises four different times the financial benefit that Planned Parenthood clinics can receive from supplying fetal tissue, with the words: ‘Financially Profitable,’ ‘Financial Profits,’ ‘financial benefit to your clinic,’ ‘fiscal growth of your own clinic.’ The advertisement carries the endorsement from Planned Parenthood Medical Director Dr. Dorothy Furgerson.”
So how will supplying fetal tissue to a medical research center be financially profitable if there are no costs attached to supplying the tissue or organs? I’ll tell you what is going on. Planned Parenthood has been caught with their hand in the proverbial cookie jar, and crisis recovery mode has ensued. You know what? They will probably get out of all of this with minimal damage to the Planned Parenthood abortion machine. The networks will move on quickly, and we will refuse to carry this past its seventy-two hour news cycle. We cannot let that happen. We must expose this evil. We must discuss it. We must do something about it.
We live in a world of choices. We can choose to let this issue slide once again into the shadows like we normally do, or we can choose to keep it on the minds and hearts of every American. This is a serious event that we are becoming aware of, and things will only become worse unless we stand up for the innocent who cannot protect themselves. Do we really want to live in a country that allows this to happen? Do we really want to be associated with such evil and depravity that is staining our very existence on this planet? Our founding fathers wanted to ensure that every human being in this country had a right to life, a right to breathe the free air and become a strong, upstanding citizen of a strong, upstanding nation. As our morality and faith continue to crumble, events such as harvesting organs from the dead bodies of murdered children will become more rampant. My intention here is not to spread fear; this is reality. This is as real as it gets. I personally am going to continue to fight and pray about this issue. I am going to side with and speak for the children that are not allowed to have life. I am going to side with the children that have these rights abolished everyday in this nation. As we get closer to the primaries, I am going to communicate to the candidates I like best that this is indeed a voting issue for me. If we cannot increase the respect and sanctity for life in this country, then what the hell are we really trying to do here? I do not want my candidate to simply say “I’m against abortion” or “I disagree with the premise of abortion” or “It is indeed a horrible thing.” I want my candidate to do something about it. I want my candidate to protect the rights of all human beings, including our children’s right to live. I want my candidate to take the necessary steps to abolish abortion from this country, so that we can regain favor with God and begin again to restore our morality and faith as a people. It doesn’t matter what else a candidate can promise; if we continue to allow children to be harvested for profit after being murdered we will indeed suffer and fail as a nation. I refuse to fail these children.
The next time you see a small child, I want you to look into their eyes. I know we are all busy with life, but just take a moment to gaze into one of the most innocent palates imaginable. There is a reason why children laugh every time you say the word “butt.” There is a reason why children cry when you scold them. There is a reason why children run into your arms for protection. It’s because they have a raw innocence that can barely be described. Children are not dependant solely because they can’t live on their own; they are dependant due to blind faith and love for those people who are supposed to protect and love them back. Look into their eyes. They yearn for love and understanding. They yearn to explore and discover. They yearn to learn and follow the lead of those who are supposed to guide them. Who do we think we are to take this away from them? Look into their eyes. You will find determination, hopes and dreams that for many of us have disappeared with time and responsibilities. You will find unconditional love that rivals the love that our Lord, Jesus Christ, has for every one of us. If you believe that abortion should be legal, or if you have had an abortion in the past, you are not evil. You have been led astray by the corruption and misguidance of our government and our society. Do not lose faith or hope, for I truly believe one day that the children of this nation will have their victory. I believe that one day the children of this nation will have their rights restored; rights that are endowed by their Creator.
I believe one day this nation could return to a place of morality and conciseness; a place where we take responsibility for our actions. May God have mercy on this nation for what we have done to his children; to his angels. May God grant us the wisdom and strength to stand and fight for those who are unable to protect themselves, and may God grant us the love necessary to forgive those who do and who will oppose us. Evil is at our doorstep. We can ignore it, we can let it in and comfort it, or we can answer the door, look evil straight in the eye, and unleash hell. It’s a fight that needs to be made not only to save the children of our nation, but quite possibly to save our souls.
